Located on New York’s Tenth Avenue, the 2,000-square-foot Story has been a shape-shifting shopping destination since it opened its doors in 2011—the theme, inventory, and design of the store are completely overhauled every four to eight weeks. The space, which is themed “Home for the Holidays,” has been recently reincarnated as an artfully kitschy residence.
Goods from more than 200 independent brands and designers are currently for sale, ranging from Soma’s beautiful and sustainably produced water-filter carafe to Vosges chocolate to jewelry designer Beth Macri’s “hidden message” necklaces. The versatile mix is proof of Story’s commitment to fledgling entrepreneurs, which, as part of Small Business Saturday on November 30, will be celebrated with a neighborhood block party complete with local food and appearances from Story’s favorite designers and manufacturers.
